2008 World Champion Nicole Cooke

This year’s Cycle 2008, which takes place in London from 9th-12th October, will have some top name cycling celebs in attendance. Those making their way to Earls Court to meet their fans will be:

Nicole Cooke – the Beijing Olympic woman’s road race gold medalist and new world champion will be at the show on Sunday 12 October with her Boardman Pro race bike. She will be doing an interview and Q&A session within the Cycle Arena and will be signing her new book.

Paul Goodison – the Beijing Olympic Gold medalist is one the best sailors of his generation (according to the show organisers) like to hang out with his mates while mountain biking. Paul will be at Cycle on Saturday 11 October from 11am-3pm.

Paul Manning – has represented Team GB in the team pursuit at three Olympic Games: Athens, Sydney and Beijing. He has been a medalist on all three occasions, taking bronze in 2000, silver in 2004 and now gold in 2008, with a world record time.  Paul will be at the show on Saturday 11 October.

Gee & Rachel Atherton – both world dowhill mountain bike champions. Dan will be hosting Q&A sessions on different aspects of mountain bike racing at the event.

David Millar – is one of the best known Bristish professional cyclists on the European circuit. He has taken stage wins in all three Grand Tours over the course of his career and currently rides for team Garmin-Chipotle. He will be appearing with Garmin on Saturday 11 October.

Darren Kenny – is a gold meal winning, record holder member of the GB Paralympic team. At the recent Beijing Paralympic Olympics Kenny took a staggering four gold medals, scoring victories on both road and track as part of a hugely successful Team GB squad. He will be at the show on Saturday 11 October.

Shanaze Reid – a favourite to win gold in the first ever BMX event at the Beijing Olympics, Shanaze was plagued by crashes and came away empty handed. However, her refusal to give up won her a new set of fans. She will be at the show on Friday 10 October – doing the bikeability schools session and will also be signing autographs.

Michelle Dillon -winner of the London Triathlon and two time Olympian will be at the show every day to answer questions on training and nutrition.

Jim Rees – is the soloist who raced 3,150 miles across America. He will be cycling 100 miles a day on his stand at the show for charity.

So, make sure to mark the dates in your diary and make your way over to Cycle 2008 in less than 2 weeks time.
