London's own Critical Mass cycling event

The UK’s very own Critical Mass today received support from the UK Law Lords. According to a ruling from the Lords, the police have no powers to control the Critical Mass cycle ride through London.

The House of Lords allowed an appeal by cyclist Des Kay against a ruling that the police could demand notice of the ride and the organisers’ details. However Law Lords say the event, which celebrates safe cycling each month, is not governed by the Public Order Act.

For those of you who would like to join in the fun, the London Mass meets at 6.00pm on the last Friday of every month on the South Bank under Waterloo Bridge, by the National Film Theatre.
